1.0.5 Submitted - The Pond, Relics on the Line, and Ten New Alphas

September 1, 2026

Version 1.0.5 has been submitted to Apple. It is the biggest update Pixel Reel has had, and it goes live the moment review clears.

We listened. The feedback since launch has been loud and clear: you want updates for every kind of angler, not just the ones at the end of the map. So we have been hard at work working on content for all types of users (Casual & Endgame Chasers). Here is what is coming, what it is for, and where to find it.

The Pond - your own corner of the map

For every angler, from the very first cast.

Day one: the free starter pieces

The same Pond, fully built

Every angler now owns a Pond. Find the GO TO POND button beside the title on the Career map. It starts as a bare patch of water and grass - no dock, no path, nothing - and you build it up piece by piece.

A blueprint surfacing on the line

Nothing in the Pond is paywalled. Blueprints are earned by fishing, and the free starter piece for every category is yours from day one.

Relics - the bridge between casual and endgame

For anyone who wants their rod to grow with them.

A relic surfacing on the line

Relics are brand new in 1.0.5. Twenty-five of them, and every one changes how the game plays for you. Fish that bite sooner. Coins that pay a little more on every catch. Megalodons that strike more often. Bosses that take the line more often. Gems that surface from an ordinary cast. Reel tension that builds slower.

They live in the new Tackle Box - the button on the Gear tab - and they surface everywhere you fish: on the line in regular fishing anywhere on the map, at the Lagoon, and at your Pond. Whether you fish ten minutes a day or ten hours, the box fills at a fair pace - a little more than one relic an hour of fishing, and Old Salt's Lucky Ring doubles it. Duplicates are not wasted either: a repeat relic pays out in coins, scaled to how far down the map you are. And when the box coughs up a Steel Coin instead of a relic, hold on to it. It is worth exactly nothing, and that is the point.

The Tackle Box, filling up

Each relic has its own piece of art, so the box looks like a box of treasure. For the casual angler, relics are a steady drip of "my rod got better". For the chaser, they are the multipliers that make the deep waters pay.

Ten new Alphas - the back half of the map

Endgame content. Bring a steady thumb.

Every water from the Mangrove Maze onward hides an alpha, a boss with its own fight instead of the reel bar. The first eight are covered in the Boss Guide. The ten waters past Delta Marsh now have theirs, and none of them fight alike. Same rules as always: 1% per catch once you have 25 catches at that water, one free ad retry per encounter, and a shot at that boss's pet on every win.

Moonveil under the aurora

Moonveil - Moonlit Fjord. The pale wing under the aurora. She shows in the light for a single second, then throws shapes at you. Then you ride her out. Her pet is Moonpup.

Lanternjack among the false lights

Lanternjack - Ghostship Graveyard. The lanterns lie. One flame beats white, and you get one second to find it. His pet is Barnacle.

Thunderhead's rain rings

Thunderhead - Sky Lagoon. The storm that swims. Swipe the rain-rings before they close, then hold steady through a finale where the first tap is the only tap. His pet is Puff.

Scrapjaw's sky toss

Scrapjaw - Rust Harbor. The harbor's grinding teeth. He tosses the whole harbor into the air: catch the fish, never the scrap mines, then grip on for a Megalodon-grade reel. His pet is Rusty.

Charbelly turns the water to fire

Charbelly - Ember Deep. The furnace under the floor. The water turns to lava and you drag your bobber to stay in the one pocket of true water as it drifts. His pet is Sparky.

Novakoi's star rain

Novakoi - Starfall Sea. The comet that swims. Catch the star rain, then trace her constellations before they fade. Her pet is Twinkle.

Undertow riding the funnel

Undertow - The Maelstrom. What the whirlpool feeds. Hit him in the green arc at the bottom of every lap, faster each pass, and do not tap early. His pet is Swirl.

Lorelei's song

Lorelei - Siren Shallows. The song that empties harbors. Sing it back: tap each lane on the beat, verse after verse, the notes stacking. Her pet is Echo.

The Leviathan surfaces

The Leviathan - Leviathan's Rest. It was never resting. Six seconds to tap every harpoon scar on his coils, then break free of his inhale, then the last stand. His pet is Lil Lev.

The Unrendered

The Unrendered - Uncharted Waters. The hole in the map. Touch a glitch box twice and you are unmade. His pet is Glitch.

These fights have been through seven rounds of tuning with our testers. They are fair, and they are hard, and the pets at the end of them are the rarest in the game.

When

The build is with Apple now. Watch for the App Store update, and read the full patch notes there. If there is something you want next, the feedback form is always open. Casual or chaser, this update was built for you.
